Day 71 - Bradenton, FL

Tuesday (71) - Today was a pretty short drive to Bradenton KOA. Like many KOA campgrounds, they have a lot of activities such as train rides. No pool though so that’s a negative in my book. It is a functional farm and they have some wonderful looking produce in their store.

The sites are long and flat and all have full hookups with 50amp power so no complaints from me. I turned off the battery  charge function on the inverter since we should have a lot of sun while we are here. I need to check the water level in the batteries. It’s been a while.

We went to Siesta Beach near Sarasota for the sunset. What a zoo. Too much traffic!

  1. Train rides?

I'm so uneducated when it comes to campgrounds. The few I've been in relegated me to the tent area where I slept on the ground.

Could be I'm leading a sheltered life.

Glad you are finding some satisfaction in Florida. And hopefully the next stop will have a pool!

    1. Many of the KOA campgrounds are kind of “destinations” on their own. Families spend the weekend or longer just to escape the city. This is why all the activities many focused on families. In addition to the train, this place has hay rides, petting zoo, a farmers market, entertainment stage, etc. Definitely not what you’re looking for when you are on a motorcycle trip.

  2. We try to avoid KOA style campgrounds. Don't need the "entertainment". Hope you find some more quiet places for you.

    1. With all the snowbirds in Florida, the only ones we were able to find at times were the KOA-type.
