Today was a long haul for us. After crossing the border at Yahk, BC, we went through Spokane and ended up at the Walmart in Pasco, WA. It’s posted “No Overnight Parking” but the manager said no problem and to just stay near the back of the parking lot. The viewpoint in the picture is where we stopped for lunch. This really is a nice, scenic road through Canada. US 395 was the same as always with some strong crosswinds.
Pretty scenery. Walmart used to be pretty good about overnighters, but it seems at least some of them don't allow it anymore.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of RV parks are pressuring politicians to put local ordinances in place prohibiting overnight parking. The number of places which allow it seems to be decreasing.
DeleteSo, you saw the sign but asked anyways? And yes, I've read that lots of cities are doing that due to varying reasons...to include local RV campgrounds complaining due to lost revenue.
ReplyDeleteThe AllStays app said that it wasn’t a problem. The customer service manager said the signs were put up for construction in the behind the store.
DeleteWhat's the rush? Do you want to break a world record, Richard, or are you on the lam?
ReplyDeleteNo, there was a change of plans/destination mid-trip.
DeleteWow, I am surprised the manager of that Walmart gave permission despite the sign. In our town in Georgia, it is a City ordinance and the RV could be towed. Yikes!
