Sitting outside of the South Coast Plaza, a very upscale shopping mall near the John Wayne Airport. By very upscale I mean I’ve never heard of 90% of the stores. Some of the stores, like the Rolex store, have armed security standing at the entrance. Not much chance of finding an Orange Julius in this place. Bridget is flying in this afternoon so I thought this would be a good place to find lunch. I’m kind of glad that I left early as it took over two hours to get here due to traffic. Google claimed one hour and six minutes. It wasn’t even close to being right.
After leaving the shopping mall, the Garmin kept trying to put me on the freeway. Even with the airport right next to me, it kept telling me to make a U-turn and go onto the freeway. All this technology is not really ready for prime time.

The return trip was also around two hours. There were a lot of cars parked just north of the town of Lake Elsinore. The hills are a brilliant orange and it turned out that the cars were from people walking through the hillsides of poppies. Back at the RV, it’s 78°F inside even with one fan running. I now have the A/C on and it appears to be working for now. Plenty of cool air coming out. This picture is one grabbed from Google at link.
There you go again, defying the dictates of technology.... ;)
ReplyDeleteTraffic sounds horrible there....then again, it is California.
And not using Siri either. (Or FB, Google or Amazon assistants either) I’m just a Luddite.
DeleteI have heard about the poppy fields. Very pretty, however with all the people walking around likely taking lots of pics and selfies, this beauty won't last long.
ReplyDeleteIt probably won’t last long anyway with or without people wandering through them. But I can’t believe the number of people...
DeleteHaving seen photos of those poppy fields I can only imagine that they would be absolutely specatacular in person. So I can understand why there would be crowds.
