Day 18 - Happy Independence Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. I noticed that there was a lot of fireworks last night around midnight. I learned today that it was associated with some sporting event.

No travelling today. The highlight of the day was visiting with Troubadour and Trobairitz at Coffee Culture on Walnut along with several of their riding friends. I will be going to my sisters home later this evening for a birthday celebration. Other than that, I'm trying to not venture outdoors due to the riiculously warm weather. Right about now the rain and fog from BC sounds pretty nice. I don't remember complaining about it too much but if I did, I take it back.

Tomorrow, I plan on adjusting a few things on the rig such as the rear brakes. They got some pretty hard use on this trip due to deer wandering onto the road. No problems at all with other drivers.

    1. Couldn't pass through Corvallis without visiting.

  2. No fireworks here due to the burn ban. Kyle got stung by yellow jackets, and the neighbors gave us spray to kill them. Kyle bought lactose tolerant pills so he can make milkshakes. The 15 trims are ready for tomorrow.

    1. I hate the nests in the ground like that. That's a lot of trim!

  3. Richard, 97 is just way to hot to be outside, good choice to stay inside. Happy Independence Day. Even though this is Canada we had lots of fireworks happening last night too, being so close to the border we get it July 1 and 4.

    1. At least it isn't humid. That would have made it completely intolerable...

I don't remember seeing or hearing any fireworks on July 1st.

  4. Good to see you yesterday as well. And for modeling that beetle for us.

This hot dry weather is not usual for us this time of year. Thank climate change.

The Corvallis Knights baseball team was playing. They are usually done at 10 pm and set off fireworks. They finished in the 17th inning and the fireworks went off at 12:30 am. Luckily we were sleeping and didn't hear them.
