Still In Corvallis

Today, I wandered down to the local Farmers Market on 1st Ave right next to the Willamette River with my mom and niece. The street is closed to traffic and unlike the Fairbanks Farmers Market, most of what was sold were fruit and vegetables. (What a concept!) After wandering around, we went for lunch at the sushi place before heading back to the transit park and took advantage of the free local bus service.

Here is some minimal moto content. There is a toy store and they had this wooden scooter in their window. A pretty pricey toy.

No additional news from Raceway. Maybe I can get someone to run me out there on Friday to see what they're doing.

Oh yeah, the group photo taken at midnight in Dawson City are available for purchase from the photographers web site. This is just a screen grab on my iPad. I'm way in the back…

  1. Pretty day. I hear it's quite hot around there. Like the little scooter. :)

    1. Actually, it's cooling off and is very pleasant. Some clouds, a nice breeze at times and the blistering heat of last weekend is gone.

    1. Yep, no motorcycle means I'm back to walking… i.e. Motorcycles are bad for my health?

  3. Hope they call you ... but given my past experience I'd say, call them!
Walking is good - it's always hard to fit in riding and walking when on a trip.

    1. I guess I don't really expect a call unless there is a major problem. By problem I don't mean something mechanical. More like a warranty issue or something completely new.

    2. Hope the repairs go well ... I'm sure they will, but it's nice to have a break as well. Enjoy it.

    3. I hope so as well. Still some concern as the problems seem … premature? The rig only has 34k km on it. I'd call that low mileage.

  4. I think you should call RichardM, they get busy....

    3. Not sure whether it is still under the same management now. I didn't see Jim Petitti there on Monday. But then again, most of the others have been there a long time...

  5. If you need a ride up there...I have to work tomorrow morning, but Brad has the day off.

Or we can pick you up on the way to coffee and make a day of it on Saturday - if you still need to go to REI too for your tent?

    Just let us know.

    1. What's wrong with your tent? Don't forget you need new boots.

    2. Too much netting on the tent part so it's too cold. It may be great for warmer climates.

  6. Keeping my fingers crossed for speedy repairs. The waiting must begin to get on your nerves...

    1. From the abbreviated list of items the service manager mentioned on the phone this morning, they said that I may have been broken by the side of the road in a couple hundred more miles...
