Today was the first full day of the family reunion at the Menucha Retreat Center in Corbett, OR. There is some evidence as to the age of the facility such as this intercom/telephone system mounted in the hallway in the main building. There are buttons to ring similar instruments located around the grounds such as in the barn, stable, office areas, etc.
Below is the view from the swimming pool deck looking east over the Columbia River. If you look carefully, you can see Vista House about a ⅓ of the way across from the right hand edge of the frame. Lots of good opportunities to get to know some of the younger members of the family as they are starting their careers and families.

What a stunning view!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't ask for a nicer setting for a family reunion I think.
It really is a wonderful location for a reunion. One of the big attreactions is their willingness to accommodate all of the differant dietary preferences in this group.
DeleteIt was originally the summer country home of Julius Meier, a former Oregon governor and businessman.
A beautiful view from there. A good place for a reunion. Is that the same place as the reunion a few years ago?
ReplyDeleteI believe that this side of the family has had all their reunions here since 1997. Every 2-3 years.
DeleteA beautiful location for the event ... sounds like it is well attended.
ReplyDeleteA great location. Only 63 this time but there has been over 100 at some of them.
DeleteI like that "intercom" system.....did you check it out?
ReplyDeleteHow's the rig running?
The system was no longer functional and parts were missing. But I thought it looked pretty cool.
DeleteThe rig ran great after the timing was set. I probably should have taken it back immediately but I was anxious to get on the road again.
