Stuck in Limbo

I called Raceway Ural this morning and was told that the repairs will take at least this week and possibly into next week. No real details yet but it wasn't something trivial with the final drive like they had originally thought. And they have only just started on the engine and already found some damaged components. They have not started on the sidecar drive which I'm guessing should be pretty straight forward. I guess a positive is that I'm getting in a bit more walking again…

  1. Oh no! Is all this covered under the warranty?

    1. I'm hoping all of it. I've heard that Ural stabnds behind their product. I guess this is a test...

  3. Phew... I hope you aren't stuck for too long.

I guess the upside is that there are far worse places to have to stay a week than Corvallis.

    1. I have family here in Corvallis which made Raceway an easy decision. And it's a wonderful town.

  4. Best to stay a little longer and have it all fixed under warranty. Temperatures are supposed to go back down tomorrow too, so it will be really nice here.

  5. I am confident URAL will stand by their warranty....I bet they replace the FD. I am curious as to what they find in the engine....I wonder if it's one of the crankshaft bearing issues that affected my 2011 rig....Too bad about it taking so long though....Troubadour did offer one of their motorcycles I think? :)

    1. I have high hopes. I am the third owner so I have no idea of how it was run for the first 18k km.

  6. Well at least you have the time, and don't have to get back to a job ;-)
