Day 39, 40, 41 - Harlingen, TX - TT

Friday (Day 39) - A muggy, warm afternoon 77% humidity means that we have the A/C running just to keep the humidity down to a reasonable level.

We had the RV washed and a light wax done this morning. It turns out to be the same business that we had wash the RV last year. He remembered us and even remembered where we were last year. It looks pretty good. I also washed the car this afternoon as it gets pretty filthy towed behind the RV.

In the middle of my walk this morning, I finished the January “Challenge”. It was a modest goal of walking 56 miles. Each month it’s something different. Last year, I missed January and October. Maybe a goal could be to not miss any this year...

Saturday (Day 40)
 - The project of the day was a replacement faucet for the kitchen. This is a residential faucet that I picked up at Lowe’s so not RV specific. I needed a couple of adapters to match the fittings. The hardest part of the installation was cutting a metal angle that supports the sink to the counter. I think it was attached after the faucet was attached to the counter. One more thing checked off the “list”.

It’s 75°F and 83% humidity outside today. Maybe a good day to sit in the pool.

The pool is 85°F and I’m the only one here. Last night, a couple of guys came by when I was getting ready to leave. They said that they usually are at the hot tub around 7pm.

Sunday (Day 41)
 - How about that for a low temperature! We ended up having the A/C running all night. It has been windy since late afternoon yesterday and without the awning out, it’s too hot to sit outside.

  1. Sounds a bit warm down there. I have found a outdoor pool up here for my lap swims. Heated of course. It’s kind of fun to swim in a warm pool in cold weather. 😏

    1. Not too warm. It’s nice after the weeks of near freezing low temperatures. Are you training towards a triathlon?

  2. Your new faucet looks very nice. Funny, we just replaced our kitchen faucet too, and got one with motion action. I have to say, it is life-changing, lol. Now I'm trying to wave at the bathroom faucet. 😂 Certainly for washing dishes, it's going to save a ton of water.

    1. I was looking at the one with touch to turn on/off but wasn’t sure. This was just the Lowe’s store brand. At least it doesn’t leak on the counter like the old one. Does the sensor require much power? Batteries or AC?

    2. The one we bought is a Moen, but the price was comparable to the non-motion ones. It uses a battery pack with 6 AAs, and anticipate a years use. You can order an AC adapter, but if it lasts a year, we'll probably stick with batteries.

  3. I’m hoping that maybe towards the end of summer there might be triathlons (well any events) again. My favorite isn’t until September, so fingers crossed. Fortunately I can still bicycle to my hearts content. 🙂

    1. Heres hoping that things return to normal by the summer. That area seems to be made for biking. As long as it isn’t smoky!

    1. I’m not complaining. At these temperatures, our propane use is almost nil...

  5. Does the Prius have TPMS sensors as well?

    1. Yes, the Prius does have TPMS sensors but after 8 years, the batteries are dying or dead so the sensors will need to be replaced at the next tire change.
