Day 1 - Return to Athens, TX

I left on the red-eye and after a 1½ hour layover in Seattle, we continued on to Dallas-Fort Worth. I think I actually slept on the flights. At least some. The flight had a lot of empty seats and first class was limited to only eight people. I was pleasantly surprised that I got upgraded.

The freeways through Dallas were a real mess with the gps saying “recalculating” about every ten seconds in some areas. A whole section of 175 was torn up so I had to wander around finding an alternate route. But, wandering is almost always interesting. Wandering around with an RV is less interesting.

  2. wandering on a motorbike can be interesting unless its on/off interstates, thats not interesting, terrifying actually especially back east. west not bad. we think we've had enough east last two trips there. next epic bike trip will involve fewer states and only in the west. mind is wandering here. dreaming of riding. maybe MOA Montana 2021? if creeks don't rise, there's been too much creek rising lately. back to work. hope to see you next time up.

    1. Creek rising? In Montana or Alaska?

The open question for us is what will Canada allow as far as transit.

    2. A friend barged his RV to Tacoma last fall and then bought a second one to drive back to AK, someday... I'm considering shipping the bikes out if CA borders are still closed in June and frankly I've seen the AlCan enough. 3.5 hrs to Seatac. Or stay in AK, got plenty to do here.

    3. We have no plans on driving the motorhome to AK. But, it would be nice to have the car back up there. We would get something different down here to flat tow.

  3. Welcome back to daylight, warm weather and insane traffic! 😏
I would hate trying to maneuver a big RV around a city. Even in a car it’s nerve wracking.
I do love walking around in cities though. 😊

    1. I hate driving in cities no matter what the vehicle. I'll do it but not my choice.
