Day 90, 91 - Bowie to Casa Grande, AZ

Tuesday (90) - Didn’t do much of anything. Got some things ready to go for tomorrow. Bridget firmed up our reservation in Casa Grande starting tomorrow for six days. I spent most of the day vegging out on Netflix. It’s starting to get too hot for much else.

Wednesday (91) - We arrived at the RV park in Casa Grande a little after 11am and it was in the mid-90s (°F). By mid-afternoon, the temperature had climbed significantly. From Tucson to the RV park, I had the generator running, partially since I just wanted to see the Hobbs meter working but it was starting to feel warm in the front of the coach. And no matter how low the humidity is, it still feels really hot.

At 9:30pm, it’s still 87°F!

  1. Ugh. I hope that you can get the repair done successfully and get the heck out of dodge!

    1. The repair is scheduled for Friday. After it’s done, the coach needs to be sitting for at least a day for the rubber bedding compound to set up. We went ahead and made our reservation for six days.

    2. Makes sense, don't want to mess with the set up! Try to stay cool while you wait!

  2. See post #11 in ADV Alaska in the "Re-opening of Alaska Yukon border to motorcyclists" thread from "Keith in Alaska." He recently drove his RV north. Depends on long you are staying to cover the 14 day thing. Stuff is starting to relax a bit here. But oil industry and tourism are tanked for this year and several family members are out of work. Gonna spend money in my home state, not amazon.

    1. We aren’t planning on driving the RV north. The original plan was to store the RV in the PNW somewhere then drive the Prius back to AK. But with the new Canadian requirements, driving a self-contained RV is simple compared to a car.

  3. Too hot indeed, at least for mit it would be. I wonder if Canada will let you travel through. We still have a ban in Europe with regards to leisure travels. We will likely spend our vacation in Germany this year...

    1. Canada will let Alaska residents drive through but if you stop at a hotel, you then need to self-quarantine for 14 days. If you are self-contained, you can pull over for the night. No shopping, no sight seeing, avoid contact with anyone. I think we may be staying in the lower-48 except for flights back to take care of things such as checkups. No recreational travel allowed.
