Spearfish Canyon

Monday - We headed out with Kevin and Charla towards Spearfish Canyon. We initially headed to Sturgis and, I must admit, it didn’t look like assumed it would. It looked like just about every other small town. We just went through on the interstate. 

We then headed to Deadwood, SD, for lunch. Interesting town but mostly bars, gift shops, and casinos with a few restaurants mixed in. I had been to Deadwood before but it was for a meeting and I don’t remember going into town at all.

After lunch, we headed into Spearfish Canyon. There were a couple of waterfalls but not right along the highway. There was a fishing hole with a dozen or so trout visible from the shore (next photo).

It was a catch and release area so there wasn’t anyone fishing there.

A bit further down the road was Bridal Veil Falls. It turned out to be a beautiful drive.
