Friday - We drove to Big Spring or Kitch-iti-kipi. I’m not sure which is the correct name. The spring had a green tint from dolomite and was adding 10,000 gallons/minute to the river. It had quite a few large trout but they needed to be fed by the state as there was insufficient natural food in the spring. The outlet of the spring is a crack 12’ long and you could see the water coming into the pool from the spring. The water temperature is a cold 37°F year around. There is a raft that takes visitors across the spring and this is where the pictures were taken.
We then headed into Manistique for lunch and to walk out to the lighthouse. It was around a mile out and back and was a nice walk.
When we arrived back to the RV, I fired up the generator (and A/C) as it was 80°F and the SoC was 65% which is up from 53% this morning. I had forgotten to turn off the converter so it was charging the AGM battery all night. The 630watts of solar is really insufficient even for this RV.

630w insufficient? Try 200w. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice nog to have to run the generator everyday.
