Day 4 - Whitehorse, YT

Today ended up being a long day, 354 miles. My daily mileage goal was about 200 miles and after filling up in Carmacks, YT, I started looking for a camp site. It being Saturday, every campsite in all of the provincial parks between Carmacks and Whitehorse was taken. I finally stopped at an RV park in Whitehorse.

All day I was leap frogging with three other riders who were on their way home from D2D. Two were from OR and one from
Whitehorse. The rider from Whitehorse had mentioned that it may be difficult to find an open campsite on a nice weekend like this. I was kind of surprised that I kept passing them up as they seemed to be going much faster than I. Then one of them asked if I slowed down much on the many gravel sections. I don't think I do…

Two black bear on the road today. Tried video but I don't know how it came out.

I'll post more pictures when I have more wi-fi.

  1. Ah ha, you have an edge on the gravel sections, cue maniacal laugh.

That was a long day for you. I bet you fell asleep pretty quick.

And I had thought that the fancy dual sport bikes would be faster on gravel...
