Just Walking

I've been taking the borough bus the last couple of days since my truck is in the shop. This is providing me additional opportunities to walk and in some cases a bit of running. This morning, for example, I got up late and ended up running to the bus stop. In addition, I've been walking to lunch and have been able to get in over 10 miles a day just running around. I'm sort of looking forward to the 5k run this Saturday though I don't expect to be able to finish in the 30 minute time allowance to get a concert ticket. My fastest ever 5k is 31 minutes and that was on the treadmill not outside with real challenges such as hills, snow and ice. I've walked the route and it only takes less than 50 minutes. I hope it isn't snowing, that would be a real pain.

I used to get lots of walking by taking the bus -- gearing up to start doing that again, by getting to bed early enough at night so I can get up early enough to do everything & still make the bus!

That seems like a really good running time to me (31 minutes for 5K) -- it's taking me about 26 minutes right now for 5K on an indoor rower, but rowers normally get one further than running in the same amount of time.

Good luck with your run tomorrow! Wishing you good weather, too.
