RV is Back Home

Finally have the RV back in the driveway. I picked it up around 2:30 pm and thanks to a good friend and neighbor SteveJ, we managed to get it into the driveway. It took multiple attempts to maneuver it in. The truck was in 4WD and low range due to the steep driveway. The resultant speed in reverse or 1st was less than walking speed at idle. This really helps.

  1. Again, I marvel at your skill in backing up that RV down your steep driveway....not a lot of room for error as I recall.

    1. No, not a lot of room. Trees on one side, a steep bank on the other and a ditch across the road. It leaves a very narrow path not only down the drive but on the road to initiate turning the trailer.

  2. Well, Richard, let the games (I mean... the vacation) begin!

    1. Sounds good though it’s still a bit early around here. Rumors of snow tomorrow.

  3. Recalling Ron's and my backup skills, trailer would be in trees or over the side. We can make a big wide, flat, spot an adventure in backing. Nice to see the RV out - spring sign!

    1. The real challenge for me was not being able to see where the trailer tires were due to the steep driveway, the terrain and the size of the trailer. A slight miscalculation would put the back of the trailer into the roof rafters. That may make quite a mess.
