My first GoPro video with the camera mounted on the front of the sidecar rig. I think the front of the sidecar bounces up and down too much and there was a fair amount of wind noise on the highway. This may take a while until I find a mounting point and perspective that works. But here is my first video of my morning commute. As you can see, there is still some snow hanging around and the dirt road on campus is getting a little rough.
That's about where I had mine mounted too. Its not so bad as you think. The sound will always be that way and the bounce will happen. This looks pretty smooth. Liked it!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what I expected though I never knew the front of the sidecar bounced so much. But, thank you!
DeleteThat was so fun! Makes me think of northern WI, too. Interesting how high the road to the university is. There must be a good reason for that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ride in and I think you did an excellent job putting the video together with music and ambient sounds.
I bet most of those people in the video say "There's that guy again".
Soon there will be green on the trees again but for no, drab and dirt covered snow. Probably like northern WI. The university is sitting on a hill overlooking Fairbanks. Back in 1917, there wasn't much around and it was started from a government agricultural station. Around here, you want fields on gentle south facing slopes (lower probability of permafrost) and early photos of the university show it surrounded by hay fields not trees.
DeleteI didn't think the bouncing was too much. It looked like a nice mellow commute without too much traffic.
ReplyDeleteMellow compared to other places maybe but for here, that felt like "rush hour".
