We arrived at the Needles Marina Resort well before the check-in time but since the space we had reserved was empty, there was no problem moving in. We had selected the space back in October when we were last here. The space is huge, especially when compared to the last place. The trailer pretty much uses the whole depth of the site but it’s around 40’ wide. Other RV parks would’ve put two rigs in the space.
The Internet is $30/month for something much faster than campground WiFi as it’s provided by a local business. Since we are here for the month, electricity is metered and billed separately at 12¢/kWh. Something new for us. This will be the first time we are staying in one place for that long.
Yep, not complaining about this at all...

Well dang, that pool looks inviting! Nice getting an oversize spot. Some of those places can really squeeze you in.
ReplyDeleteEven more so as it was nicely heated. I was surprised when they said that it was all our space. Some of the places are so cramped. This was a nice change.
DeleteMetered power, have not seen that in our rv travels. Is that common? 2nd day of radiation here, going well.
ReplyDeleteOn stays one month or more, the rent is much cheaper and they charge you for the electricity you use. It makes a lot of sense around here as some of the large motorhomes have three air conditioners/heat pumps.
DeleteMetered power seems common in Europe, especially on larger campgrounds where people stay for weeks, not days.
ReplyDeleteSo you officially live the snowbird's life now.
Maybe...
DeleteI'll be curious to see how many Kilowatt hours you end up using.
ReplyDeleteThey said that the electricity bill is usually around $35 for the month unless you have a lot of A/C or electric heat. But I'll definitely post the usage.
DeleteNice choice of spots, and it looks like beautiful weather.
ReplyDeleteThe warm temperatures and blue skies were really nice. Today, it's sort of overcast and drizzle. But, I can already see a bit of blue skies on the horizon.
DeleteNice! It is great to be able to pick your spot based on having been somewhere before, especially for a month. We will be doing our first month-long stay in Texas in March, with metered electric, so I am interested in your usage. However you have solar so that will help. We've just been packing and selling stuff, 10 days to go! 😯
ReplyDeleteSolar helps a little though we do use the 115VAC element in the water heater and occasionally run a space heater. The batteries (and solar) only run the lights and the furnace blower.
DeleteTen days to go! Excited?
Yes! Excited...a little tired...and a little worried we won't get it all sold/stored/cleaned, etc, etc! 😉 But mostly excited!
ReplyDeleteAre the BMWs part of the sell pile? Or do you have some other strategy?
DeleteOh no, we're bringing them with us. We will tow the MC trailer with the coach and drive the car separately, and take turns driving.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering about the logistics, I’ve seen some class A coaches towing an enclosed trailer with motorcycles and a car. Plus, they’ve added solar to the trailer..
DeleteWe thought about a slightly bigger fiberglass trailer for the bikes and tiny car like a Smart but our manufacturer hasn't perfected it yet. Those giant stacked trailers just seem limiting as to where you could stay, park, etc.
