E-Town

Monday evening and most of Tuesday was spent traveling. The flight from Seattle to Baltimore was delayed and we didn't arrive at the B&B until around 10:30pm but making the almost mandatory dinner stop at a Cracker Barrel added to the late arrival. We don't have any of these restaurants in AK and I think that there are only a couple in any of the western states.  BTW, the AllStays app claims that overnight RV parking is permitted on their lot. A good reason to stop there even if we aren’t traveling with an RV.

We are spending a couple of days here visiting family. It's not the warm, sunny destination usually associated with Spring Break. In fact, it's below freezing this morning and is only 5°F warmer than Fairbanks. Currently, there are little flakes falling...

  1. Bizarre weather. 10 degrees warmer in Fort MacMurray yesterday than here.

    1. Enjoy the “seasonal” weather. Or that’s what I’ve heard winter weather referred to.

  2. Brrrr. Enjoy your visit.

FYI - Oregon now has a Cracker Barrel - Tualatin, south of Portland

    1. But, like many towns, local ordinances are passed to prohibit overnight parking. Lobbyists for campgrounds push these through by promoting the idea that it’ll eliminate transients hanging around their town.

    1. I had to google “smh”. Can’t keep track of all that new text lingo…

      Enjoy the non-frozen stuff.

  4. I've given up trying to understand or explain the weather. Just look at the next 8 hours and decide what to wear depending on what I'm doing. And then just try to accept whatever it is.

Hope your visit goes well and that it transcends the flakes and whatever else comes your way.

    1. Very zen-like of you Steve....accept what you can't change, change what you can (like your riding gear choices).

    2. I’ve given up on forecasts and just deal with whatever the weather happens to be.

No “touristy” activities planned. Just between the B&B and the Masonic Village and back. And we head back tomorrow. A pretty short trip. Airfare was ridiculously high as this is Spring Break week in AK. And it seems that a lot of people want out of AK.

  5. I saw your post on FB saying you were in Seattle, Richard, and headed to BWI, just as the news was saying 1600+ fkights into BWI were cancelled, so delay wasn't so bad. 😜

Optimism from me sitting on my RV couch, haha. Safe travels!
