DOW

One of the shows I occasionally watch on TV is "Storm Chasers" on the Discovery Channel. One of the vehicles participating in the chase is the DOW 7 aka doppler (radar) on wheels. When I got back to my hotel this evening, it was parked in the parking lot. Does this mean that there are tornados in the area? It was pretty cool to see it up close.

I had just returned from walking back to the Pentagon City Mall, not that I was looking for anything but I just felt like I needed a walk. I ended up walking for a couple of hours and covered almost 8 miles. It's easy to do around here since there aren't any hills. I think I've been sitting around too much during the day.

  1. Hmmm I hope the DOW 7 was on it's way to poor weather and that isn't an indication of your weather to come.

Good job on your walking. We've been doing yard work in the evenings, but if it isn't raining tonight I think we'll head for a walk too.

    1. At the beginning of the week, there was a lot of rain but it has cleared up pretty well. The truck was gone this morning so they must not be working in the area and are headed to the Midwest.

Walking and running are really portable activities and if traffic is light, safe to do almost anywhere. Thirty years ago I did some work in Ann Arbor, MI, and brought my bicycle with me. What a hassle but I was going to be there for several weeks and wanted to keep up on my riding. Walking or running would have been a lot less hassle.

  2. Dear Richard:

Be very careful walking around the Capitol... Especially the Rayburn Building. Not only is it easy to step in bullshit, but it is neck-deep there.

Surprised to hear the snow is gone from Alaska. They have it in upstate New York.

    Fondest regards,

    1. That may be true of just about anything in that area of town. There are some great walking paths in the area and along the river.
