The sunny, Spring weather continued on for the remainder of last week but this morning, Winter seems to have returned with below 0°F temperatures returning. Not that it really matters to me as I'm sitting in the airport again heading north for the week with quite a list of things to take care of. Since some of the tasks involve being outside for a while, I even dragged out my cold weather gear. Carhartt coveralls and bunny boots. I tried on the coveralls to see if they fit and this may be a small victory, as the coveralls are probably about 20 years old and I sort of outgrew them a while back. Now, maybe due to all the walking, they fit again! I was wondering if they would be suitable for when driving the sidecar. Since they aren't motorcycle gear, it obviously wouldn't have any armor but the probability of hitting the ground may be lower now with the third wheel. Just a thought...
Most excellent victory!! Congratulations. Have a good trip north and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was kind of surprised when I discovered that they still fit. Now the new goal is to have to replace them because they are too big...
DeleteReverting to the size of 20 years past is a victory of enormous proportion. Funny how enormous proportion and reverting seem to be at odds with each other.
ReplyDeleteRegardless it is a grand achievement.
You're absolutely right, reverting has been very difficult. Now to aim for 30 years. I should make that in about 10 more years...
DeleteHooray for old gear fitting. Boo for colder weather.
ReplyDeleteI think the coveralls would be fine for riding on three wheels. I wouldn't think you are riding in a high traffic accident area.
I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised to see that it fit again. I must have hoped that it would again since I still had the coveralls hanging in the closet. I think I'm going to try them for riding when I get back.
DeleteRichard:
ReplyDeleteI wished I could fit into my old clothes. I think they shrunk
I have never been anywhere where the temps have gone below Zero °F

Riding the Wet Coast
That has always been my excuse. Everything has shrunk over the years. Clothes, airline seats, cars, etc.
DeleteReally!? I thought many parts of B.C. get at least that cold as I've run into below zero temperatures in California...
Well Done - fitting back into the once shrunk Carhartts ... by the way, check out Mark's Work Wear House - all the best dressed working men here are wearing Carhartts from Marks, the overalls are flame resistant and they still have the arctic coverall. They are one heavy, tough pant/overall/coverall! They're so heavy, washing a couple of pairs has nearly worn out my washing machine. (Nope, don't work for Marks.) Keep warm.
ReplyDeleteWhat I have is the Arctic Coveralls and I think it's just about one washer load all by itself. They are pretty warm but the wind up here still manages to get through. Does this mean that I actually have to work?
DeleteMy youngest son started wearing pants from Duluth Trading Company supposedly made from fire hose material. Much tougher than even the Carhartts.
