Day 59 - Coram, MT

Another travel day. We left Deer Lodge mid-morning as it was supposed to be a relatively short day. What I didn't count on was all of the holiday traffic every time we went through any town. There was a large lake on the way and it was practically bumper to bumper traffic with all of the people flocking to the water to cool off. Not that I can blame them as it was around 90°F in the early afternoon. The RV park is nice with gravel pads (pretty level) but still rather crowded. The campground had a "No Vacancy" sign out. I'm glad that I made a reservation.

Tomorrow being Independence Day in the U.S., we aren't planning to go anywhere. There is a campground potluck tomorrow afternoon. Assuming I can find a serving bowl at the little grocery store, I was going to make potato salad. On July 5th, we'll head into the park and maybe ride the shuttle bus along the Going-to-the-Sun Road from the west entrance to the east entrance. I suspect that this is prime tourist season. And like many other RV parks, the wifi is horrible as is Verizon. There is three bars of LTE but it is incredibly slow. Possibly even slower than the campground wifi. AT&T seems to be working fine and that's what I'm using for this post.

  1. 3 bars and slow....sad. Oversubscription no doubt.

    1. Too many people. Everyone at this and the other two RV parks are probably on the same tower.

  2. Happy 4th to you and Bridget, probably a good idea to stay put today.

I have the day off but Brad works so not much on our agenda.

    1. Staying put is not a bad way to spend the day...

  3. Scary how crowded things are in the summer now around our parks. I'm glad we made the decision to move our trip earlier in the year. I wish you cooler weather!
