PBC #6 and Cold Weather Fun

How about this, a non-RV post! It actually has a little bit of moto content.

This was somewhere between a "just because" and "why not" video. Only a couple of km around the subdivision. It was just a pretty afternoon, I felt like I had to get out for a short ride. 2WD got a lot of use as there were still some really slick areas with loose snow. Anyway, it made for some nice scenery. Once on the main road, you can see the ice fog. It was pretty heavy in town. Ice fog is crystals of ice forming on smoke particles so it is really unhealthy to breath in. But there are some in town who believe that they have the "right" to burn wood.

The first video is Bridget throwing a cup of hot water into the air when it's this cold.

  1. Thanks for the cold ride Richard. Those poor, mistreated high schoolers remind me of the stories my Pop told about walking to school in the snow, uphill both ways.

    1. Glad to oblige. I like all of the fresh frost on the trees. Those students didn't look very happy though few actually had very far to walk.

    1. There were a ton of people on FB doing the same thing, It doesn't get this cold very often. It hit -53°F at the airport. There was a long line of cars at the university temperature sign of people taking pictures. Usually in shorts or swim suits...

  3. The throwing water video was pretty cool, but your weather is too damn cold. Good thing you are acclimated to it.

    1. Tossing boiling water seemed to be the thing to do in Fairbanks besides taking pictures at the university temperature sign. The police had to show up to do traffic control and insure that folks didn't strip down as much as some wanted to...
