Back to to Future Day

All I want to know is where is the flying Delorean that I was promised? Not to mention the hover board and the Mr. Fusion...

I remember when 2015 was so far in the future that I never really gave it much thought. Where has all that time gone. Last year I had posted about this date and was starting to seriously consider retirement. A lot has changed in one year but no flying cars.

Happy Back to the Future Day!

  1. The question is, Richard, given the choice between your Ural and a flying DeLorean, which would be your daily driver? And given the choice between that result and a hover board, which would be your regular mode of transportation?

I was never skilled at skateboarding, but I think I'd have a tough time choosing between a hover board and a motorcycle.

    1. Flying anything would be great especially if it had a "Mr. Fusion" and used garbage as fuel. I was never that good on a skateboard but that was partly due to the cracks in the sidewalks. Hard to choose...

  2. Wow, that movie's 30 years old! Where did the time go? Now I feel old, thanks...

    1. You're welcome. Need to share the feeling old bit. Plenty to go around...

  3. My favorite line was always Doc yelling "1.21 gigawatts!" I don't know why but I still try and work it into normal conversations.

    1. I'll be looking for the line in all your posts from now on. Don't forget to also include the flux capacitor.

  4. Richard the Delorean was in Toronto today (of course it didn't seem to be able to travel in time but seemed to have all the other bells and whistles) but I hear you...where did the last 30 years go?

    1. I was just thinking that I am almost finished with my second 30 years. Am I looking forward to the next 30 as much as the last 30?

  5. I never saw the movie! In 1985 I was riding a Goldwing Aspencade with a 2 passenger sidecar. Nearly every weekend was a 3 day ride with both kids and their mother. I guess I was spoiled even back then.

    1. I never saw the movies when they came out either but did rent them after the last one came out. Then I could watch all of them end to end...

A ride every weekend! That sounds pretty nice.

  6. I'd be happy with just having Mr Fusion!

    1. That's not asking for much is it? A Mr. Fusion would solve a lot of problems...

  7. Great Scott! Time flies. Watched part 2 again, yesterday. Flux capacitor is something that I still work into conversations, too.
