Blogger Apps

In order to avoid the issue I had with Blogger deleting my post due to an incompatibility with mobile Safari, I decided to re-install BlogPress onto my iPhone. There are only a couple of apps that actually work on an iPhone/iPad and I had purchased this one over a year ago. I didn't care for the limited formatting options but I thought that I'd give it another chance. It seems to have improved. I can actually resize pictures and move them around on the page. If nothing else, it allows me to quickly make changes to existing posts or write simple posts from the iPhone. The photo shows my birthday treat from a few days back. Deep fried ice cream at the local Mexican restaurant in the Crystal City Mall right near the hotel.

The other app that seems to be recommended is Blogsy for the iPad only. After downloading it on my iPad ($4.99), I think this may be the real long term solution.

It's real easy to resize pictures and the user interface is sort of wysiwyg as you can see in the screen shot to the left. By "sort of" I mean that it really isn't a preview and can't be relied on as to the actual appearance of the page. On the other hand, it doesn't delete the content and you can switch between the app and the "Compose" view on the laptop.

Sorry, no moto content at all...

    1. Both Blogger and BlogPress work on the iPhone but you would only be able to post pictures that you actually have on your iPhone or have uploaded to some other site already as doesn't have the ability to read your SD card. The iPad does with the camera adapter.

Another way is to enable email posting within Blogger settings and email posts which can include inline pictures.

    1. Deep fried ice cream isoneof those treats not to be missed. It is usually a dessert option at Mexican restaurants and is made from scoops of really cold ice cream (like -40°C or colder). It is served on a fried flour tortilla sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon.

  4. Yumm! Happy Belated Birthday.

I've never heard of Blogsy but may have to download it on the iPad. Thanks for the tip. All I can seem to do is comment from the iPad, to do anything else just doesn't work right.

    1. Thank you for the birthday wishes. So far Blogsy seems to be working fine. I can even go in and edit my older posts that were made on the computer web browser. This app actually seems to work.

Looking forward to seeing you guys in a few days.

    1. This app really works though it isn't free. Hope you have good luck with it. The Blogger app is much simpler but posting inline pictures are a real pain bless you are really good at hand coding HTML.

  6. I am so old fashioned... I still carry an old acer notebook to use the standard blogger interface. Poor me doesn't have iPad or iPhone just yet.

    1. It sounds like you just want to be able to get things done rather than waste time playing with the new technology. The iPad is an experiment and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it to do everything I need it to do. This is just one more thing.

  7. Happy Birthday. I am jealous of the fried icecream. Trust me, getting older is a good thing. I would not go back and live thru several periods of my life :)

    -Peace

  8. I use Blogpress because Blogsy seemed laborious having to switch betwen rich and html texts. Also the picture upload was awkward. With blogpress I never use a laptop any more.
